What to Expect

What to Expect at Highbrow Ranch

At Highbrow Ranch, every experience is designed to be intentional, personal, and confidence-building—whether you’re stepping into the saddle for the first time or returning to a love of horses you’ve carried for years.

We offer two distinct experiences, each thoughtfully structured to meet you where you are.

Starting Gate Workshops

  • A relaxed horse class covering foundational knowledge and fun facts about horses

  • Small group instruction for personalized attention

Duration: Approximately 3 hours

This experience is approachable, educational, and confidence-building—perfect for those just getting started or reconnecting with horses in a supportive setting.

Horse Camp Retreats

A fully immersive cowgirl experience

Horse Camp is our signature multi-day retreat experience and offers a deeper, more immersive connection to ranch life, horsemanship, and yourself.

Over three days, guests are fully integrated into the rhythm of the ranch. You’ll be assigned your own horse for the duration of the retreat, allowing you to build confidence, consistency, and trust in the saddle.

What’s Included:

  • Three days and two nights at our on-site bed & breakfast

  • Your own assigned ranch horse

  • Daily riding instruction tailored to your experience level

  • Hands-on horse care and horsemanship education

  • Immersive ranch experiences and cowgirl lifestyle learning

  • Thoughtfully prepared meals and shared ranch dinners

  • Small, curated group sizes for connection and community

Horse Camp is a higher investment experience designed for those ready to fully step into ranch life, deepen their horsemanship, and enjoy an unforgettable cowgirl retreat.

Our Teaching Philosophy

With over 20 years of teaching experience, we are prepared to work with:

  • Total beginners

  • Nervous or returning riders

  • Skilled riders seeking a relaxed, high-quality riding experience

We intentionally keep our groups small and well-staffed to ensure safety, confidence, and individualized instruction. With three riding arenas—including a covered arena—we are equipped to handle most weather conditions.

Additional experiences such as cattle work or trail riding may be available for select groups and are planned on a case-by-case basis during the booking process.

Application-Based Experiences

All Highbrow Ranch workshops and retreats are application-based. This allows us to thoughtfully pair guests, match experience levels, and create the most supportive and rewarding environment possible.
