Kate Evans is the founder of Highbrow Ranch in Caldwell, Texas, where she shares what she's learned from more than 30 years in the horse world—as a competitor, horse owner, business owner, and lifelong student of the industry.

She wasn't born into a horse family or backed by an unlimited budget. Like many horse owners, she's had to learn through experience, mistakes, and a lot of trial and error. For the past 11 years, she's managed her own horses at home, constantly looking for better, more practical ways to care for them, train them, and build a program that works in the real world.

From 2008 to 2022, Kate owned and operated Life in Stride Riding Academy, where she helped hundreds of beginner riders build confidence in and out of the saddle. She understands what it's like to feel overwhelmed by the horse world because she's spent nearly two decades helping people through those first uncertain steps.

In 2024, Kate earned her MBA from LSU, giving her a different perspective than most horse professionals. She became fascinated by the question, "How can we make horse ownership more enjoyable, more affordable, and more sustainable?" Today she combines business strategy with hands-on horse experience to help owners spend less time fighting unnecessary problems and more time enjoying their horses.

Whether she's sharing lessons from managing a ranch, competing in reining, building a business, or testing new ideas at home, Kate's mission is simple: help everyday horse owners avoid expensive mistakes, gain confidence, and build a horse life they can actually afford to enjoy.
